[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide archival audiovisual materials digitization service to digitize substantial batches of content on a quarterly basis, as departmental fiscal resources allow.
- The film includes a mix of color and black-and-white, silent and sound (including optical and magnetic). Most materials appear to be in good physical condition, with no obvious signs of extensive deterioration, damage, or contamination that would require extraordinary treatment methods to enable digitization.
- Characteristics intrinsic to the source material will be preserved in the preservation files, including frame rate, pixel aspect ratio, interlacing, resolution, recording standard, and number of audio channels. luma, chroma and black levels may be adjusted as required on the playback equipment or time base corrector to best represent the source material.
- include basic information such as unique identifiers, filename roots, descriptive metadata, and source statements.
- The vendor will be responsible for filling out the rest of the fields in the spreadsheet, including metadata about the transfer process and resulting digital files.
- All staff handling the original materials must be knowledgeable regarding the care and handling of film and video media in the collection.
- Original materials should transported (or played) as little as possible, and should be transferred only once, except to correct problems discovered during quality control.
- No materials shall be left unattended during transport.
- No materials shall be left in a machine if it is not actively being transferred.
- All machines used for transport and playback of media shall be and known to be in good working order and under a routine maintenance plan.
